My husband passed away a year ago today. He was in long term care for AZD but died from falls that caused brain surgery and continued falls after. They said they could only protect him in (their words) lock down unit and of course this did not work. My concerns are that these for profit “care” homes only make money and do not follow through with care. My story is long and frustrating. I may take legal action.

Dr. Lane, Can you oversee a complete comprehensive evaluation to rule out FTD as per this battery seen here plus separate interview with significant other of dementia patient?: https://neupsykey.com/neuropsychological-assessment-of-frontotemporal-dementia/. For 10 years, my husband (age 75, retired neuro-scientist) has been declining in the neuropsych area – starting with depression/suicidal ideation. Past five years, every specialist says they “cannot rule out FTD” but will not diagnose it as possible or probable with one exception: specialists who knew him best said 95% certain FTD, 5 years ago]. To date, none have offered the comprehensive testing to rule out FTD. For five years, we’ve pleaded for proper medical help.
Last time my husband had a pubic melt-down, part of me died. He does it mainly with me, but now, others as well: always loud, public, most cruel personal attacks, as though he cannot stop yelling and pounding out the insults. Every other FTD bv sign is also present, now even including binging on jars of peanut butter alone in his bedroom. I cannot plan. I cannot live with this any longer. May we make an appointment with you please?
